MHPSI are proud to announce that we are now the holders of the only Irish Miniature Studbook recognised and granted by the Department of Agriculture, and are the only society who are an authorised licensing authority for miniatures recognised in this studbook. Miniatures registered on our studbook will be able to stand proud across the European Union as proud holders of an Irish Passport. Following years of hard work and negotiating with the Department of Agriculture we were officially sanctioned to register miniatures from 1st February 2009. Launch of Irish Miniature Studbook
Our official launch will be held in early Spring. To coincide with this official launch we will be holding a stallion parade – details of this will follows shortly. In addition to the parade we will also be running a prize draw with numerous prizes to tempt our supporters. General Guidelines;

Step (1) Decide on a name for your miniature

• Include a second and third choice also as name availability can be a problem.
• If you would like to register a Prefix, please complete the form enclosed.

Nominate a Vet to;

• Complete the Irish Miniature Studbook Marking Chart
• Microchip the animal - compulsory for all Registrations
  The cost of the microchip kit is included in the Vets fee.
• Measure the Animal

DNA TYPING

• All Stallions must be DNA Typed.
• DNA Typing kits can be Obtained from Weatherby’s Ireland
• The cost of the DNA Typing is borne by the applicant.

All Veterinary Fees are borne by the applicant.

Horse Registrations - Foals / Mares/ Geldings.

On contacting MHPSI with your details we will send the Marking Chart, and Application for registration/classification in the Irish Miniature Studbook

• Section A: Details of Applicant and animal
• Section B: Official Height Measurement
• Microchip Compulsory. Microchip Number to be recorded on Section A and Section B on Applications
• All applications to be Signed/Dated / by Applicant .
• Signed /Dated /and stamped by Vet.
• The Completed Applications A & B, Marking Charts to be forwarded to H S I with the appropriate fee.

Stallion Registration:

On contacting MHPSI with your details we will send the Marking Chart and application for registration / classification in the Irish Miniature Studbook:

• Section A: Details of Applicant and animal
• Section B: Official Height Measurement
• Section C: Health Checks for Stallions

• Microchip Compulsory. Microchip Number to be recorded on Section A and Section B on Applications.
• Application to be Signed/ Dated by Applicant
• Signed /Dated/ Stamped by Vet
• The Completed Applications A B & C, Marking Chart, and DNA results for Stallion’s to be forwarded to H S I with the Appropriate fee

Endorsing of Passports

If your miniature has a passport, or Certificate please include it with the registration application

• Section A : Details of Applicant and Animal
• Section B: Official Height Measurement
• Microchip Compulsory

For Stallions please include

• Section A: Details of Applicant and Animal
• Section B: Official Height Measurement
• Section C: Health Checks for Stallions
• DNA Results

• Microchip Number to be recorded on Passports / Falabella Certificates etc
• Vet must Sign/Date /and Stamp Passports / Certificates.
• All Applications to be Signed & Dated by Applicant.
• All Applications to be Signed, Dated & Stamped by the Vet.
• All Applications A B & C Marking Charts: DNA Results for Stallion‘s only: to be forwarded to H S I with the appropriate fee.
• Relevant Registration Fees are on front of Marking Chart;
• Please ensure that all sections of the form are complete prior to submitting your application.
• All Applications are Signed /Dated/ And Stamped by Vet.
• All Applications are Signed /Dated by Applicant.
